FAQ
gENERAL
What suppressors does Dillon Rifle Company currently offer?
Dillon Rifle Company currently offers the DRC556 (5.56) and DRC308 / 7.62 suppressor.
Mounting & Threads
Is the DRC556 HUB compatible?
Yes. The DRC556 is HUB compatible and uses the industry-standard 1-3/8×24 HUB thread specification.
What mount comes with the DRC556?
The DRC556 ships with a factory 1/2×28 direct-thread adapter. This is the recommended configuration and the only setup that is fully warrantied.
What is included in the DRC556 “Hush Kit”?
The Hush Kit includes the DRC556 suppressor and the factory direct-thread adapter.
Can I use a QD mount with the DRC556?
Yes, HUB-compatible QD mounts may be used if they meet the required blast-chamber clearance. However, QD mounting systems are not fully warrantied.
Are muzzle brakes or compensators compatible with Dillon suppressors?
No. Muzzle brakes, compensators, and compensating flash hiders are not recommended. These devices concentrate blast pressure on the suppressor’s sidewalls and may cause damage or void the warranty.
Is the DRC50 HUB compatible?
No. The DRC50 is not HUB compatible and uses a 1″–14 thread adapter.
Is the DRC50 compatible with Barrett M107 or M82 rifles?
The Barrett M107/M82 requires a 7/8″–14 thread. An adapter is not currently available. Modifications are not recommended and may void warranties.
Blast Chamber Clearance
What is the blast chamber clearance on the DRC556?
The blast chamber measures approximately 1.12 inches from the end of the threads to the first baffle. Any muzzle device or adapter must not extend into this space.
Barrel Length Restrictions
What is the minimum barrel length for the DRC556?
The minimum recommended barrel length is 10.5 inches. The suppressor has been tested down to 11 inches.
What happens if I use a barrel shorter than 10.5 inches?
Barrels shorter than 10.5 inches may result in excessive blast pressure, increased fouling, and potential suppressor damage.
Can the DRC50 be used for sustained full-auto fire?
No. The DRC50 is not intended for sustained full-auto fire and has not been tested on the M2HB.
Materials & Construction
What materials are used in Dillon Rifle Company suppressors?
DRC556: Inconel, selected for durability under high heat and sustained fire
DRC50: Titanium, selected for weight savings and appropriate thermal performance

Caliber Compatibility
What calibers can the DRC556 be used with?

6mm ARC
.243
.22 Creedmoor
Any larger caliber
The bore diameter is approximately 0.280–0.283 inches.
Can the DRC50 be used with .50 Beowulf?
Yes. The DRC50 is designed for .50 BMG and can also be used with .50 Beowulf, which produces less gas.
Can the DRC50 be used on a Barrett M82A1?
No. The Barrett M82A1 is not suppressor-ready. Modifications are not recommended and may void warranties.
Coating & Maintenance
Does the factory coating affect performance?
No. The factory coating is approximately 0.001 inches thick and has no observed impact on suppressor performance.
Can I Cerakote or repaint my suppressor?
Aftermarket Cerakote or paint may clog vents and can void the warranty. Proceed with caution.
How should I clean my Dillon suppressor?
Ultrasonic cleaning is the recommended cleaning method.
Accessories
Can I use a suppressor cover with the DRC556?
Yes. Suppressor covers are compatible with the DRC556. A Dillon Rifle Company suppressor cover will be released in the future.
Performance & Technology
Are Dillon suppressors flow-through?
Dillon suppressors use PIP technology, which is not a traditional flow-through design. It is engineered to reduce back pressure while maintaining sound suppression.
Will independent performance data be available?
Yes. Independent test data from Pew Science will be published in the future.
Warranty & Safety
Which mounting method is fully warrantied?
Only the factory direct-thread mount is fully warrantied.
What can void the suppressor warranty?
Use of muzzle brakes, compensators, compensating flash hiders, or improper HUB/QD mounting devices may void the warranty.
