FAQ
gENERAL
What suppressors does Dillon Rifle Company currently offer?
Dillon Rifle Company currently offers the DRC556 (5.56) and DRC308 / 7.62 suppressor.
What is up with the 50cal Suppressor?
After customer feedback and extended durability testing we were unhappy
enough with the suppressor design that we went back to drawing board. We
want a suppressor with the same superior sound performance but with the
durability we expect out of all our products. We also would like to make sure
it can be used with semi-auto 50bmg rifles such as the Barret M107. The new
version is currently in design so stay tuned for announcements so we can
bring you along.
Mounting & Threads
Are your suppressors HUB compatible?
Yes. The DRC556 and DRC308 are HUB compatible and uses the industrystandard 1-3/8×24 HUB thread specification.
What mount comes with DRC suppressors?
The DRC556 ships with a factory 1/2×28 direct-thread adapter.
The DRC308 ships with a factory 5/8-24 direct-thread adapter
What is included in the “Hush Kit”?
The Hush Kit includes the suppressor, the factory direct-thread adapter and a
low-profile wrench for the adapter.
Are muzzle brakes or compensators compatible with Dillon suppressors?
No. Muzzle brakes, compensators, and compensating flash hiders are not
recommended. These devices concentrate blast pressure on the
suppressor’s sidewalls or first baffle and may cause damage and will void the
warranty.
Is there a recommended torque or thread locker I should use to mount my suppressor?
We recommend hand fitting the suppressor and torquing to 20-25lb-ft. If you are
permanently fitting the HUB adapter, we would recommend using a high
temperature thread locker. We also recommend checking the tightness of your
suppressor during safe intervals of fire to make sure it is staying in place.
Host Weapon Considerations
What is the minimum barrel length for DRC suppressors?
The minimum recommended barrel length is 10.5 inches. The suppressor
was tested on 9.75” barrels and longer
What happens if I use a barrel shorter than 10.5 inches?
Barrels shorter than 10.5 inches may result in excessive blast pressure,
increased fouling, and potential suppressor damage.
Can I use my suppressor with my FRT trigger or Full-Auto weapon system?
For FRT and Full-Auto use, we suggest using our suppressors made with
Inconel only
Materials & Construction
What materials are used in Dillon Rifle Company suppressors
DRC suppressors are offered in both Titanium and Inconel versions.
What materials are best for what?
If you shoot a lot, such as with a Full-auto or have an FRT installed on your host
weapon, we recommend choosing an Inconel suppressor.
If you primarily shoot semi-auto or with a bolt action and weight is important to you,
we recommend a Titanium suppressor.
Weight
How much does the DRC556 weigh?
Inconel suppressor with adapter weighs 1lb 1.4oz
Titanium suppressor with adapter weighs 12oz
How much does the DRC308 weigh?
Inconel suppressor with adapter weighs 1lb 4.2oz
Titanium suppressor with adapter weighs 13.2oz
Caliber Compatibility
What calibers can the DRC Suppressor be used with?
The DRC556 is optimized for .223 / 5.56x45mm, however, smaller .22 calibers such
as the .22LR will work.
The DRC308 is optimized for .308 / 7.62x51mm, however smaller calibers such as
the .300BLK will work.
What calibers are NOT recommended with the DRC556?
The DRC556 is not recommended for:
• 6x38mm ARC.
• .243 Winchester 6x52mm.
• .22 Creedmoor.
• Any larger caliber than the 5.56x45mm NATO spec.
The bore diameter is approximately 0.280–0.283 inches.
The DRC308 is not recommended for:
• 7x58mm PRC.
• .300 WMag 7.62x67mm.
• .338 Lapua 8.6x70mm.
• Any larger caliber than the 7.62x51mm NATO spec.
The bore diameter is approximately 0.365-0.385 inches.
Coating & Maintenance
Does the factory coating affect performance?
No. The factory coating is approximately 0.001 inches thick and has no observed
impact on suppressor performance.
Can I Cerakote or repaint my suppressor?
Aftermarket Cerakote or paint may clog vents and can void the warranty. Proceed with caution.
How should I clean my Dillon suppressor?
Ultrasonic cleaning is the recommended cleaning method.
Please see our video on how to clean your suppressor
Accessories
Can I use a suppressor cover with the DRC556?
Yes. Suppressor covers are compatible with the DRC556 as long as they don’t cover
the first row of logos or vents.
Performance & Technology
Are Dillon suppressors flow-through?
Dillon suppressors use PIP technology, which is not a traditional flow-through
design. It is engineered to reduce back pressure while maintaining sound
suppression.
Will independent performance data be available?
Yes. Independent test data from Pew Science for the DRC556 and DRC308.

Warranty & Safety
Which mounting method is fully warrantied?
